Simple Delights

I’m looking at a really rough work schedule today. Tons of pages to write. Already I’m wishing I could pamper myself—which got me thinking. (Always dangerous!)

It’s a pretty individual thing—our pampering preferences. And I’m a little out of practice pampering myself and could use some fresh ideas. So how about we share some tips today?

I’ll start it off…

Wear your special occasion underwear even though it’s Monday.

Now, it’s your turn!

  1. Take a long, hot and bubbly bath and don’t forget to ignore the phone (it’s usually sales people anyway!).

  2. A large pot of good tea, a comfy chair, a TBR stack, the remote and bullriding or football on the TV. It’s why God made answering machines.

  3. Ilona! I haven’t taken the time to indulge in a bath in such a long time. I like your suggeston!

    Virginia! Sounds like Nirvana!

Brandy! That’s me. Hot showers–but I’d really like some company in it!

  4. I like to be quiet. Turn off everything and just be quiet. It helps me to center myself. Maybe have a fancy coffee at the same time.

  5. Criteria for a My Most-Special Day/Night

    1. Alone (child at school/asleep/grandparents, husband optional – but only if he promises to do my bidding!)
    2. Lying on my beloved Tempur-pedic with 4 pillows, white cotton sheets and Great Grandma Rosie’s quilt.
    3. A glass of Sweet Tea with lime
    4. Biscoff cookies
    5. No telephone (I’m seeing a theme in all the above posts!)
    6. Window open (preferably to the sound of rain, wind, crickets/frogs/cicadas or whippoorwills.

That should do it. Hmmm, is it possible I’ve put too much thought into this?

  6. I love my “alone” time, quiet, doing my own thing, no kids, no hubby. I love a good hot bubble bath. I have a busy work schedule, so going to get a nice mani/pedi is a treat for me. Then every once in a while, maybe once every 18 months or so, I pamper myself with a massage, the local Community College runs special pricing during the practice phase of their certificate programs, and since i have a friend her got her certificate and runs her own special pricing every now and then, I take advantage when I can.
